Swim Fun

We had an awesome play date today with Mollie and Aspen at the Herriman Rec Center Pool. Oh my goodness, Gabe was supposed to be a fish. He LOVED playing in the water. he couldn't get enough of it. He went down the slides and let the water bucket fall on him. The splashing of the water didn't bother him at all. In fact, it was the opposite. He did most of the splashing. He got a little smooching in with the two lovely ladies we came with. He loves the ladies. So, we will be doing a LOT of swimming this summer. Gabe would have it no other way. Aw.... my son is so cute!

Big 27...

Well, I am 27! 27!!! I can honestly say that I DO NOT feel 27. I feel more like 21. Oh where has the time gone. I did have a really great birthday though. Since my birthday was on a Sunday, Dallas and I celebrated on the Friday prior. He took me to the Melting Pot for dinner. I have never been there so it was a great surprise. It was quite delicious. My favorite part was the dessert, of coarse. Then Dall took me to see the movie Limitless with my parents. Good movie, wont see it again. I also got wonderful goodies from my family. It was a wonderful birthday. 27 of the 27th..... Golden!

Oh weather, dont tease.

So I am in need of a blog post update since it has been a while... but there is nothing new going on around here. But, my sister Allie just graduated from SkinScience Institute!!! Yay Allie! Congratulations and I cant wait to reap the benefits of your new and exciting future.
We love you and are so proud of you!!!

Since the weather is playing tricks on us (one day it's nice, the next it's horrible), we have been trying to get outside as much as we can so Gabe can run and play and just get some of his energy out. Basketball with dad is a great way of doing that.

But like I said, one day it will be nice, the next not so nice and Gabe is left doing a lot of this...

He gets so bored that he starts to get into things he knows he shouldn't be getting into. This day in fact, he got caught putting two of his balls down the heat vent and now they are stuck.... probably never return again. This is such an "Oh no, I've been caught" face.

Thank goodness there is IFA so Gabe can go visit the little chicks. He LOVED them. He was very sad to say goodbye. Maybe Grandma Mel needs to get some..... hint hint.

And on our lucky nights, Gabe and the parentals get to spend some quality time with awesome neighbors, the Lunds. Gabe and Mollie are quite fond of each other. They are even rubbing off on each other. Well.... Gabe is rubbing off on Mollie and teaching her all sorts of naughty things! Sorry Lindie!

One thing is for sure though, we cant wait for warm spring to get here so we can be outside a whole lot more.

Weekend in St. George

My sis Marni invited us to St. George for President's Day weekend and we had so much fun. It was nice to just get away for a little while and relax... even though the weather was Horrible. We played some B-Ball, went swimming, shopped, played the Wii with the nieces and nephew, laser tagged, mini-golfed and just hung out!!! Thanks Marn for inviting us. We had a lot of fun. And here are some pictures of our weekend...

Nice shot Cars!

Gorgeous little boy

Like father, like son

Daddy took a break from B-ball to kiss his boy

Gabe loves the ball and hoop

We visited an awesome consignment store called Urban Renewal. It had a little bit of everything, as you can see.

Our lazy Sunday... we just let the kids play in their PJ's all day. Cute!

Dall packing up the car to head home

The weather was crazy. It was cold!!! Funny picture, Snow on the mountains but yet there are Palm Trees. You don't see that too often.

Those were the good ol' days...

So I got this forward from a friend from the 1955 issue of Housekeeping Monthly. It's quite enjoyable!
  • Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.
  • Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.
  • Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.
  • Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dustcloth over the tables.
  • During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.
  • Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.
  • Be happy to see him.
  • Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.
  • Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.
  • Don't greet him with complaints and problems.
  • Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work.
  • Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.
  • Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.
  • Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.
  • A good wife always knows her place.

What I want for my Birthday...

Since my Birthday is coming up... in a month 1/2.... i figured I would start giving subtle hints to Dall about what I would like. Oh where to begin. Oh I know... how about this gorgeous Camera Strap.
I just LOVE the camera straps at Shey [B]. They are gorgeous, feminine and they make me want to take a bunch of pictures!!! Gorgeous... simply Gorgeous.
And while you're at it, why not give me one of these gorgeous bags from Jo Totes.

I am so in love with these bags!!!!! I want one in every color.
And hey, what the heck. I need one of these too.
This beautiful quilt is from West Elm. It is one of my favorites. I am in need of new bedding and I want to give my Master bedroom a whole new look while I'm at it. It will be a big project that will definitely take some time.
So as for my Birthday Wish List, I wont get all of these I'm sure. I might get One if I'm lucky but a girl can dream right?
And in closing, here is an adorable picture of the little man.

This and That

So yesterday I was getting ready in the bathroom and I had my little sidekick at my feet and the next thing I know, he is crying. He was playing by the tub and chipped his two front teeth on the tile that surrounds my tub. He was not a happy boy and I was not happy either. I am still upset about it. I am keeping a close eye  on them so see if they are going to turn brown and to see if he is in any pain but so far, he doesn't seem to mind it too much, other than he cant stop rubbing his tongue against this teeth because they feel different... and sometime he puts his fingers in his mouth. That is what makes me think that he might be in some pain. I hope his nerves aren't exposed. I am going to call my Dentist Monday morning to get his advice. But I am sad because his "look" has changed. As silly as that might sound, I LOVED his little snaggle teeth. One was longer than the other and he looked so cute. He still looks adorable but now his teeth are straight across. If this is how I feel about him changing now, how will I feel when he gets braces!? Anyway, so that was our big event yesterday.
Another thing that will be keeping be busy is being the Co-Director of the Miss South Jordan Pageants. My sister Marni was asked to be the Director and she asked if I would help her out. I am really excited about this because I have wanted to get my foot in the door with Pageants again. I know Marni has wanted to to. We will be busy but it is going to be a lot of fun.
Anyway, enough with the talking... more pictures!

Gabe and his cousin Avery love to play with each other. Avery is so good to put up with little Gabers.

Gabe LOVES balloons!!! If he sees one anywhere we go, he will throw a fit until he gets it! It's so cute.

Gabe wants to feed himself now with forks and spoons. He does a good job but with the help from mom and dad.

Gabe also LOVES marsh mellows. He could eat and eat and eat and eat them all day long if he could.

Gabe likes to type on the computer. Such a business man.

Oh I LOVE this smile. Such a turkey.

Oh, and IT CAME!!!! My 2011 Project Life! It is so much better in person!

ExCiTeD!!!!!

I am more than excited because I just ordered this...
That's right... the new Project Life 2011 Amber Edition!
I came across Becky Higgins blog last year in January and I fell in love! This woman is AMAZING! She does pretty much everything. She has been around for a long time and I feel jipped that I only just found out about her a year ago. She first got started scrap booking and it went off from there. She has such amazing ideas in SO many areas..... Organization, Decorating, Scrap booking, Cooking, Crafting, Documenting Life and so much more! Becky, I want to be more like you!!!
So, onto my Project Life story. When Gabe was born, we took pictures of Everything, as most new mothers know. I felt like every time he would move, i had to capture it. I was worried that as he got older and as we got use to the adorable things he did, we would forget to capture it with a photo. My parents can attest to that. We only have pictures growing up of the Special Events that went on like recitals, holidays, birthdays, soccer games, choir..... you know, the usual. Which is great and all, but what about the other days? Like the days where all you do is lounge around the house and play with trucks and blocks and change poopy diapers. Those are moments that you want to remember too right? Ha ha ha... Insert Project Life! I was immediately drawn to this concept. Take a picture a day for a year and write a little snipit about it... there, your done. As you can see from the gorgeous picture above, Becky has put her heart into designing an awesome Kit.
I started started Project Life on February 14th last year so by album is almost finished and I can say that I have loved every minute of doing it. That final result is fantastic and my family can look back on all the stuff we did and be glad that I documented it. I cant wait to get my new one and get started! You NEED to check out Becky's Blog, you'll be sold too!

All About Gabe

On New Years Eve night, we spent the evening hanging with some good friends. And I did something so spur of the moment.... I had our friend Nicole give Gabe his first hair cut. This was a very big deal to me because I did not want to cut it! I wanted to grow it out. But, I guess there will be plenty of time for that. I just wont give him another hair cut for quite a while and let it grow out a bit. I just LOVE little blond boys with shaggy hair and I don't know why. Dallas wanted to cut it a long time ago but he knew that Gabe's hair would only get cut when I said so! But I will have to say it looks cute cut too!

I also wanted to write down all the cute things Gabe is saying and doing so that I will always remember.
At 15 months, Gabe is saying:
Mamma
Daddy
Cracker
Kuh Kuh.. as in Yuck
This... with a lisp
Bampa (Grandpa)
Nana (Grandma)
Ayi (Allie)
Burp
Duggie (Doggie)
Hi
Uh Oh

At 15 months, gabe is:
Running... or speed walking
Climbing EVERYTHING
Hitting
Giving kisses
Throwing the Ball
Loves to Shower with dad
Throwing his head back when he is upset
Growling when he is upset
